Experience
While a student at Virginia Tech, I majored in physics. In between classes, I also donated my time to organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Special Olympics. In the summer of 2013, I had the fortunate opportunity to study at Queen's University Belfast. With my scholarship from the Fulbright Commission, I learned more about Irish culture and politics. I'm adept in helping students learn more about algebra, calculus, pre-algebra, multivariable calculus, chemistry, science, physics, and math. I can also work with students to prepare for standardized tests such as the PSAT. My philosophy for tutoring is based on my ability to empathize with students and their struggles with grasping a topic. I pride myself on taking the time and effort to evaluate each student's needs to be able to help him or her absorb the material in his or her own way. It's my goal to motivate my students to communicate what they've learned in their own words. Being able to accomplish this feat proves they comprehend the subject matter. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing basketball, lifting weights, watching YouTube videos, and learning about science.
