Experience
Teaching is my passion, I am working towards my PhD at Virginia Tech in order to become a professor. I have taken courses in all the subjects I offer during either my undergraduate, or graduate education. I was a Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Entomology, at University of Rhode Island. I taught small review sessions and 1 on 1 lessons to reinforce concepts taught in class. I am an Eagle Scout, awarded in 2011 from Troop 2 Narragansett, RI. I recently won the Nutshell games at Virginia Tech for science communication, a summary of my research in 90 seconds. Hobbies
My hobbies include cooking, baking, hiking, camping, insect collecting, video games, and tabletop board games. I often can be found hiking through the woods of Virginia, looking for trees suffering from Emerald Ash Borer. I am an avid hiker, I have hiked extensively in the white mountains and presidential mountains, and look forward to hiking the entire Appalachian Trail one day. I cook meals most nights, and enjoy trying new cooking techniques. I play some video games, and table top board games during my limited free time.
